Hello,

I'm curious as to whether this idea (linked to below) for large pull out storage under stairs is quite complicated to execute or relatively straightforward? (I'm wondering if structurally-speaking it's complicated?)

And, who would be the kind of person who does this sort of work? Builder? Carpenter? Woodworker? Cabinet maker?

Thanks.

It depends on what is under your stairs. If it is a hollow space then it should be fairly straight forward to construct. There is likely some internal structure like studs that will need to stay in place and therefore dictate the width of your doors. You should contact a cabinetmaker that does built-in units for this project. It will require someone who is comfortable with a certain level of carpentry skills and fabricating large drawers.

Thank you for the reply Scott. It's very helpful to know what kind of person to look for (cabinetmaker who does built-ins in this case). I'm in the Boston area or I'd give you a call! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

That is the most awesome thing I've seen!!! Wish I had a staircase to do that with!
